I often sneak out of bed for an early morning practice or meditation before the family (and the sun!) awakes. For me, it’s the best time of day – the body is strong, mind alert and it’s simply the most refreshing way to start the day.
Energise your mind, body & spirit Yoga is the best way to wake up your whole body! The fresh, crispness of the morning air, an energy boost from a steady flow of pranayama and the stimulation of your parasympathetic nervous system during your asana will invigorate and energise your body for the whole day.
Manifest a calm, grounded attitude Early morning practice will set the tone for the whole day, and allow you to put other distractions in perspective. This will enable you to tackle peak hour traffic, school/kindy run, traffic lights, or a chaotic rush to get to work in a much calmer, patient manner. You’ll also have the added bonus of knowing that your asana practice is already completed for the day, so at the end of your work day you can go home and relax.
Happiness – it’s a scientific fact! The physical practice of asana raises serotonin and dopamine levels and gives you an endorphin-rush that will radiate from you, allowing you to feel younger, brighter, happier and healthier. You can be assured that your regular practice will lead to a healthier body inside and out, your skin will glow and your body will feel absolutely sensational.
